Did you know? Mixing & matching formwork saves time and effort

Smarter formwork solutions for complex pit designs

When it comes to stormwater pit construction, efficiency is everything. Many contractors spend valuable time building timber formwork from scratch to achieve the required dimensions. But what if there was a faster, easier way?

That’s where Manhole Form Hire comes in. Our formwork system allows you to mix and match components to create the exact structure you need—without the hassle of constructing temporary formwork on-site.

A smart solution in action

Instead of fabricating custom timber forms, contractors can use a combination of our heavy-duty corners (typically used for larger pits) and standard extension panels (commonly used to elongate round drums). This allows for the efficient formation of a 9x9 inner, 1.5m high stormwater pit.

For the outer form, utilising our lite-duty pit box—featuring steel corners with ply shutters containing steel bracing—enables the formation of a 12x12, 1.2m high structure, achieving a 150mm wall thickness with minimal effort. The outer box was positioned on a 300mm pipe, allowing the 1.2m high outer to align perfectly with the 1.5m high inner.

The result: A clean, precise pit without the extra work

By leveraging Manhole Form Hire’s modular formwork, contractors can save time and labour while achieving a professional, high-quality finish. No wasted materials, no unnecessary delays—just an efficient solution to a common challenge in civil construction.

How can this work for you?

If you’ve ever spent days building timber formwork for complex pit designs, we might already have the perfect solution waiting for you. Our mix-and-match system gives you the flexibility to create non-standard structures without the time-consuming process of traditional formwork construction.
